Raising Esher and Walton teacher concerns in the School Accountability and Intervention debate
This week, Ofsted unveiled new proposals for report cards for school inspections—but local teachers have told me they aren’t convinced. Many see it as “the same system, different name” and worry that, after years of being ignored, nothing will really change. I am also concerned that there is no dedicated assessment on how schools will support children with SEN. Until we have radical change in how we educate our children, report cards - however innovative - won’t make the difference. I asked the Minister, on behalf of teachers in our constituency for reassurance that these reforms will be shaped by genuine reform and collaboration and I will continue to press the Government on this issue.
